A Gentle Women's Self Care Retreat
What to Expect
If These Trees Could Heal is committed to providing a safe, thoughtful space where women can experience the grounding, nourishing presence of the natural world, while feeling supported to do so. Created for those who feel drawn to nature, but may not have spent much time camping independently or being in nature on their own.
This weekend is about slowing down, softening, and allowing yourself to be held by both the natural environment and a small, supportive community of like-minded women.
You’ll be camping independently, but not alone; supported by shared spaces, guided practices, and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. Across the weekend there will be yoga, meditation, breathwork, journaling, creative and nature-based workshops, with communal evening meals provided, alongside plenty of unstructured time to sit quietly, walk, read, reflect, or simply rest.
This retreat is intentionally low-pressure. You’re invited to participate in what feels right for you, to take space when you need it, and to arrive exactly as you are. There is no expectation to share, perform, or explain yourself — only an invitation to reconnect with nature, your body, and yourself, in your own way and at your own pace.
The Space
The retreat is held on the traditional land of the Darkinjung and Guringai peoples. On a safe and secluded property in the Central Coast hinterland, surrounded by national park and open bushland. It’s a peaceful, expansive space designed to help you slow down and feel held by the natural environment.
The land opens out into wide, grassy areas bordered by forest, with a running creek, abundant birdlife, and regular visits from native wildlife. Nature is very much part of the experience here. Quietly present, grounding, and alive.
There is a shared undercover communal space, set up with mats and comfortable lounges, where group sessions, workshops, and quiet moments together can take place. It offers shelter if the weather turns, while still keeping you connected to the outdoors.
Amenities are thoughtfully integrated into the landscape, including compost toilets and showers. If you choose to shower during your stay, we ask that you please use natural, eco-friendly products only, as the runoff returns directly to the surrounding ecosystem. Caring for the land and protecting the homes of our critter friends is an important part of how this retreat is held.
A communal fire pit provides a shared gathering space for evenings — a place to sit, warm up, and connect as the day winds down.
There is access to rainwater on the property. If you prefer not to drink rainwater, you’re very welcome to bring your own.
The property is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes’ drive south of Cessnock/Newcastle, and approximately 1.5 hours north of Sydney, making it accessible while still feeling beautifully removed from everyday life.
This space is simple, intentional, and deeply connected to the land — offering comfort without excess, and an opportunity to experience nature in a respectful, supported way.
The Retreat falls on Mother’s Day weekend, and this is an intentional invitation for women to prioritise themselves.
Whether you gift this time to yourself or a loved one gifts it to you, this weekend is about rest, nourishment, and being held without obligation.
Friday 8th - Arrival and Settling In
Arrival is open and unhurried, between 10:30am and 3:00pm. There is no pressure to arrive at a specific time — this window is designed to give you space to set up, explore the land, settle in, or simply rest before the weekend formally begins.
At 3:00pm we’ll gather for a welcome circle, followed by a gentle grounding and intention-setting meditation. The afternoon will then flow into guided or personal journaling time, self care, connection and a shared evening meal.
Saturday 9th – Immersion & Connection
Saturday is a full, spacious day dedicated to body movement, deep nature immersion, creativity, and breathwork, alongside opportunities for connection and bonding within the group. The day is intentionally unhurried, with guided practices balanced by time to wander, rest, reflect, or simply sit with the land.
You’re invited to participate in what feels supportive for you — whether that’s joining in fully, taking quiet moments to yourself, or moving gently between the two.
Sunday 10th – Closing & Integration
On Sunday morning, we’ll offer gentle morning movement options and sit spot personal meditation, before coming together for a closing circle at 11:00am. This is a soft, reflective space to gently bring the weekend to a close.
After the closing circle, you’re welcome to spend time as you wish, be it journaling, enjoying the space, packing up slowly, exploring or sitting quietly in nature. Departure is flexible, with everyone asked to leave by 2:00pm.
This timing is intentional — allowing those who need it, the space to make it home for a late lunch or dinner to celebrate Mother’s Day with family, while still giving others the option to linger and leave at their own pace.
This weekend is not about rushing or fitting into a rigid schedule. It’s about creating permission — to arrive slowly, to rest deeply, and to leave feeling replenished.
Many women will choose to attend this retreat on their own, and you are very welcome to do the same. Regardless of if you bring a friend or not, you will leave with many.
You don’t need to arrive with a plan, or any prior experience. This space has been created to offer independence alongside quiet, steady support. You’ll have your own camp setup, while also being part of a shared environment where connection happens naturally and without pressure.
There is no expectation to socialise constantly or to stay on the edges. You’re free to join in, step back, observe, or rest as needed. Whether you find connection through conversation, shared meals, sitting by the fire, or simply being near others in silence, all ways of being are welcome here.
If this is your first time camping solo, please know you won’t be doing it alone. Support is available, guidance is gentle, and the intention of the weekend is to help you feel safe, capable, and held — by the land, and by the community around you.
You are welcome exactly as you are.
A Little Practical Information
To help you feel more comfortable registering, we’ve put together a simple checklist outlining what you’ll need to bring if you choose to attend.
This checklist is not about perfection or having everything exactly right — it’s simply a guide to help you understand what’s involved and to ease any “what if I forget something?” worries.
You don’t need to have everything already, and you don’t need expensive or specialised gear. Many items can be borrowed, improvised, or discussed ahead of time. If you’re unsure about anything on the list, support and guidance will be available well before the retreat.
You’re very welcome to take a look through the checklist before registering, and to reach out if you have questions. The intention is to make this experience feel accessible, supportive, and well-held from the very beginning.
Caring for the Land
This retreat is held on a living landscape, and we ask everyone to help care for it. We follow Leave No Trace principles, which means taking all personal rubbish home and leaving the land as we found it.
Thank you for treading lightly and helping us protect this special place.
